  • We had dinner at Legal Sea Foods, which wasn't nearly as good as I remembered from 22(!) years ago. We then went to the top of the Prudential building, but were too cheap to be able to enjoy the view.
  • My big girls with their big sunglasses on our first morning in Boston.

  • The girls had lots of questions on their first subway ride on the T.
  • We took an excellent 2 1/2 hour walking tour along the Freedom Trail. The girls really enjoyed it, which was great.
  • We had a nice lunch and had a table with a nice view.

  • Jessie had a blast playing in the water playground in Boston Commons.
  • We enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery at the "Make Way for Ducklings" pond in the park.
  • We went on a "Duck tour", which is a trip in a WWII style vehicle that drives on the roads and then drives down into the water and becomes a boat. Here you can see a shot of a beautiful old Boston building reflected in a much newer skyscraper. You can also make out the Duck boat in the foreground.
  • Our duck boat tour guide was incredibly impressive.
  • She even let Kate drive the boat (while it was on the water, not on the land).
  • We had these guys in their sailboat buzz us a few times. This is not telephoto lens (in fact it is a wide-angle shot).
  • Then Jessie got her turn at the controls.
  • And Kelly too.
  • The tour was about 35 minutes on land and 15 minutes on the water. He were are switching back into being a truck by driving out of the water.
  • This is the North Church where Paul Revere put the two lanterns to signal that the British were coming by sea (well actually by river).
  • We spent a bunch of time walking through the city. Tonight we walked back into the Italian part of town and had a great meal at an Italian restaurant. The contrast of old and new is so different from home.
